The Round Up – Friday 29th April 2022

The prevalence of sight loss across the nation is underestimated, with 48% believing less than one million people are affected by sight loss, when the number is about two million. While 40% of us either do not think or know if it is possible to prevent us losing our sight in later life, some of the most commonly diagnosed eye conditions can be prevented and treated successfully with regular eye check-ups and a healthy diet are among the actions we can take to help.

Robin Elliott has been talking to Macular Society CEO Cathy Yelf to find out why it is so important to prioritise regular eye check-ups, and eye health in general, to address sight loss early on.
